    Hello all,

I'm trying to install AVG free version onto a laptop running Windows Vista Home Basic.

Just as it's coming to the end of install, the installation fails with the following error listed -

"Error:Action failed for file avgtdix.sys: starting service
    Error 0x80070014"

Tried contacting AVG with no reply and searching both their forums and the internet but can't find a fix. Just wondering if any of you guys have had a similar problem or if anyone can shed some light on a solution. Thanks.

    hi drunkmonkey,

Yeah downloaded it about 3 times, from AVG directly and from download.com, still no joy. The laptop was running McAfee but I removed it prior to downloading AVG. I did, however, install Zone Alarm first which came up with several warnings when installing AVG but I have selected 'Allow' everytime they popped up .

Ah success!!! I uninstalled both Zone Alarm and Ad Aware. This fixed the problem and AVG installed no problems!!! Happy days. Hope this helps anyone else with this problem.
