After seeing a poor England gifted a win by Italy, a resurgent Ireland beating the French and Wales defeating a poor Scotland, who do you fancy to win the Championship?

My guess will be the team that wins the most games........

I went with an optomistic Ireland. I don't think Italy, Scotland or England will be able to beat us, and Wales didn't look anythign special against a shocking Scottish side, so on that evidence Ireland. But I will still stick with my origional prediction of a grand slam decider in Cardiff and Ireland to lose out. But you never know.

That is also based on the French throwing out experimental teams and Wales turning them over in Paris, which is a big call! But hopefully France can win that game and the championship could come down to a 3 way tie, so we could win out that way.

I think France have a strong chance of winning this year, despite losing their opener. They have an incredible pack, and I can see them beating all other teams (including Wales, who they have in Paris, a major advantage). Although Ireland still stand strong, I have a feeling they'll lose to Wales (who they have in Cardiff, a major disadvantage). That would leave Ireland, France and Wales each with 8 points, coming down to point difference in the end (where France won in 2007)

Wales are the only impediment to us winning - based on current teams form.

Their performance against Scotland was nothing to be afraid of IMHO

But. Factor in injuries etc, it could be two very much less than optimum teams meeting in Cardiff.

    Never discount the Kidney Factor...

    Time will tell. :)

I picked Ireland before the tournament began, and I feel no need to change that now!

Wales in Cardiff will be difficult though.

If we get to Wales unbeaten (and i beleive we will) I imagine the Irish will lift their game up a few gears to get their overdue grandslam.

wouldn't like to say, but out of the 3 winners from the weekend we are the only team that had to put in a real performance to get a victory - not saying wales didnt play well, but they nearly let scotland back in it in the last 20 mins.

ireland will not win. we are perrenial underachievers with no bottle, a captain who shouldnt be and the most over rated out half in the world who excels only in missing tackles

Rubbish - although O'Gara has missed a few tackles, along with inside centre, he is in the channel that is most often attacked. Its standard pracice for teams to send jinking centres or large, mobile forwards in that direction. You saw what happened for O'Driscolls try, he blitzed Beauxis. He has his off days, and when he's bad he's bad. But on his day he is one of the top 10's in the world. For all we know that happens with many other modern OH's, its just we have no-one good enough at the moment to step in when ROG is off form

O'Driscoll led from the front yesterday, and played a stormer. There is an argument that O'Connell would be a good captain, but by evidence of last saturday we have a captain that doesn't need replacing.

I will accept that ireland might not win, I'd even let go a post that said Ireland PROBABLY wouldn't win, will not? You should go to the bookies and lay a shedload of money on that, you'll win a lot of money.

As for being bottlers, the team is populated by players who are champions at club level, and Irish set-up has changed so we don't now WHAT they are yet.

Heh, you call Ireland Bottlers yet despite being Irish you support a foreign side - and the foreign side you pick are the biggest bottlers to ever grace world rugby!

We dont have any bottle though. Look at the amount of times we've blown it in 6nations.

Past tense, we didn't have any bottle. We can't say this year whether we have bottle or not.

Ireland have a great opportunity to win the 6Ns this year after finally beating France. If we can continue that level of performance throughout the competition we should win it. However whenever i get really excited about Irelands prospects they manage to cock it somehow, so i'll just go with a tentative maybe we'll win it for now. Hopefully Kidney will be the factor to get us over the finishing line this time out.

It depends as much on the other teams (especially Wales obviously) as it does on Ireland. Wales won the GS last year because every other team was pure muck...

I don't think Ireland will beat Wales in Cardiff if I'm being perfectly honest! But then again, I don't think Wales will win in France so I reckon it'll come down to points difference between us and Wales...

Bar no slip up against Scotland!

I'm hitting Cardiff for the last game so I sincerely hope it comes down to that for a grand slam decider. I have a feeling for France against Wales this weekend though.

Judging by Wales' performance last weekend, I'd say it could be a close enough battle between Ireland and Wales. It really depends on the kind of momentum both teams pick up over the course of the tournament. If we come out, all guns blazing against Italy and beat them by 30 or 40 points and then go on to massacre England and Scotland, we'll be in a very good position to take the grand slam. If we cough and splutter our way through the next three games and win with three reasonably unconvincing performances, while Wales thrash the rest of their opposition, then they'll flatten us in Cardiff. Both teams have the talent. It's really about which one maintains the most momentum, controlled aggression, desire and belief.

france are playing scotland this week, wales are playing england.

i think this tournament is for wales to win or lose, they are the only team playing consistently good rugby at the moment and would turn over france and ireland on current form
