    rarely used by men
    generally seniors
not saying your a lady, cause you may be for all i know
but generally this club would be for someone who may not be v. strong and needs help to get the ball airborne
replacing 5 iron i would say

note: most people go for a resscue club now instead as it would have a shorter shaft and is easier to control

but as always maybe it'll work for u

    Depends on the person.

I play off 5 and have a 7 wood in my bag that I use quite a lot, I find it a great club.

highest wood I have myself is a 5 but I find it very handy and mate of mine has a 7 in the bag. Its a great little club for rough and fairway, also handy for a soft landing par 3.

Just make sure it has a suitable shaft before you start using it. It might be seniors or ladies as mentionned above. What h'cap are you? Do you like hitting long irons or woods?

I picked up a cheap Srixon 7-wood last year. I hit it a bit further than my 3-iron and I'm way more consistent with it.
The pro's for me are - predictable distance, higher ball flight which makes it easier to hold a green, more consistency.

how far do you hit your 3 iron

I hit the 7 wood about 200 yards, a good 3-iron would be about the same, but I didn't hit that many good 3-irons.

Not really, my old man has a 7 wood which is 22 degrees loft. Depending on the manufacturer a 7 wood could be anything as low as 20 degrees.

200 yards doesn't sound to unreasonable with such a loft all.

no doubt involved just thought it was a big hit

I think the loft on the one I have is 20.5 degrees

i have one myself callaway bbII 21 degree heavy stiff shaft ,tip stiff for a lower ball flight . i find it more flexable than a rescue , sometime travels as far as 5 wood in winter because no role on soft ground so i don't carry 5 wood . don't be afraid to go down shaft for a punchy low into wind shot very useful

Yeah i hit just under that..and i find it much more accurate than my 3 iron.

But it could all be in my head:D
