SKY self install??

    Hi guys..I'm leaving UPC and going back to SKY for SKY+...I have a question, I have my old SKY set up still in place (dish..cable and card) and have aquired a SKY+ box.
    My question is..can i phone SKY and ask them to just send out a new card and marry it to the SKY+ box I have or just update the card I already have and marry that to the new SKY+ box, therefor doing away with the need to have it installed by a SKY engineer?..I know I have to run another lenght of cable but thats no problem. any advice is much appreciated..cheers

    You will also need to replace the lnb to a dual one if you did not have sky+ before. Im sure though that they will just activiate you.

    With a quad, run the rest of the cables and if you can afford it you can get a freesat HD reciever and get your free to air HD channels like BBC etc for free :D Some even have a PVR function like sky+ Or usb to plug in a USB hard drive to record to.

    You can still use sky then for the other non free to air channels.
