We have booked flights to malaga from july 27 to aug 3. No real preference on where we should stay, most places, benelmadina, torremolinos etc on the costa del sol would be perfect, only stipulation would be no driving from acom to bars/food/beach.

Have you been ? What area would you recomend ? Avoid ? can you recomend s/c accom ?

I stayed in the Vistamar but it's a bit out (near the Sunset Beach club) so not overly central. Have seen but not stayed in the Puerto Azul in Marbella , they've a great location and looked a decent standard I think they are self catering.

Benalmadena Palace might be a good one to look at also. There's another place called the Benal Beach which I didn't like the look of at all.

I have my eye on sunset beach, but at >1k for an external apt its a bit on the expensive side, that general location would be fine i think, taxi in at night is not going to be more that a fiver i heard.

Ill have a look at vistamar and peurto azul. Is marbella a lot more expensive compared to the rest of the costa ?

Seems expensive enough for the Sunset beach alright and you'd definately need external as some of the internal ones face into other apartments so not great. Just had a quick look you'd pay around €580 for a studio or €780 for a one bed in the vistamar for that week self catering, you could also try the hotels directly and see if they've any offers on . Hope you got good deal on the flights ! :)

I booked a last minute cheap and nasty holiday in Torremolinos a few years back and we ended up staying at the Bajondillo apartments intorremolinos.

we groaned when we got there because it looked like a typical 1970s Torremolinos hotel, when we got inside though we were very pleasently surprised. Nice rooms, excellent location on the sea front and a nice pool
