Not sure if this was posted before, but I'd just like to thank Coilte and the County Councils for ruining everything for me. For the last 15 months I've enjoyed Carrickgollogan hill and surroundings mostly to myself, apart from the odd dog walker. Now that the Dublin Mountains Initiative has published detailed routes, maps and activities, they're making the hills a lot more accessible for everyone (damn them :)).

Some good running routes in the hills if you live in the shadows of these mountains: http://www.dublinmountains.ie/

Cheers for that Krusty, I got a GPS for the Art O'Neill challenge and know I'm try to learn how to use it and develop my navigation skills. That website looks like it will help to provide some opportunities to get out and use it. Though I'm planning to explore some of the hills up by me tonight when it gets dark.

thats one of my favourite runs too, never usually meet anyone except mountain bikes or motorbikes. parking will be very difficult unless they get better at opening the car parks.
