It seems since his injury on Tuesday, Puyol has gotten pregnant. Or something

Lionel Messi's son Thiago (Thiago Messi Roccuzzo) was born today, thought it might be of interest to some in here

I would imagine there will be a couple of rocking baby celebrations should he score in his next game.

Big game this evening although a win is'nt vital because of the points difference which is a good thing because to be honest I'm not too optimistic of a Barca win here especially with the situation in defence. A Barca win would be a serious blow to Real even at this early stage of the season.

Pique trained with the squad last night but I don't think he'll be match fit to start, it's a choice between an unfit Pique and a fully fit Song in defence :(

Messi is going through a slump at the moment, has'nt scored in his last 3 games iirc :pac: I expect a big game from him this evening and I expect a big contribution from Villa if he gets some game time. Hopefully Iniesta is fully fit to start as he will cause Madrid serious problems and open up space for the rest of the forwards. Alves needs to get the finger out aswell as he has'nt been performing aswell as he can the last couple of games.

Very nervous about this game. The defensive frailties have me worried, but Iniesta and El Guaje back is a massive boost.

    Gonna stick my neck out

    3-2 Barca

2-1 Barca I'm thinking. RM to score first, and Barca to pull one back. Villa with the winner on the 87th minute :D

Messi doesn't do cliched goal celebrations.

Is Messi now the top scorer in Clasico's?

Messi is one goal behind Di Stefano as top goal scorer in Clasicos.

Super free kick from Messi, he seem's to be getting better at them. Alves needs to get the finger out, he has been poor for awhile now and tonight he was'nt at the races. I have a feeling this will be his last season at the club before he heads to City or PSG.

We need Pique and Puyol (hopefully Abidal aswell) back to full fitness as soon as possible because if the defence stays like this we are going to leak goals for sport this season.

I thought Busquets had a great game and was one of the best performers. The team still is'nt playing to full strength yet and there is'nt as much intensity to the play as there was in the season before last. Even though the team played well tonight there was a lot of sloppy passes that you aren't use to seeing with this group of players, still though it's early in the season and the flow should come back to the team.

Edit: It was a false rumour that Messi' partner had a baby the other day apparently.

Messi seems to be having lots of luck with free kicks lately, can hardly call either of these luck though lol. First one is vs Madrid last Sunday and the second was last night vs Uruguary

He's "doing" it for Argentina lol. What's the argument against him being the best EVER if he were to win the world cup? With the recent massive improvements with the Argentina's national team I think the next world cup might be Messi's best chance. 3-0 against Uruguary and 3-2 against Germany are not bad results at all!

That's something like 12 goals in his last 8 internationals. Argentina have a really good chance of winning the next World Cup especially if they can sort out their defence. I don't think any other country can compete with the fire power they have up front.

If Argentina go on to win the next World Cup there will still be people saying that "Maradona won it with a sh*te team and Messi was playing with Aguero, Tevez, Higuain etc."

Hey, I'm looking to go to the Celta Vigo match on the 4th of November (a Sunday), would it be wise to book plane tickets to Barcelona for that morning.. I plan on going to a concert in Dublin the night before then travelling out to Barca the next day. Where would be the best place to get tickets for it?

Ticket offices across from the club shop. Celta has never been a sell out iirc when I went. Should be a good few tickets available.

Thanks Aaron, I'm guessing at this stage the date of the match is confirmed? As in, its on the Sunday rather than a Saturday?

First Barca match, I've been to Camp Nou before but only during the summer about 6 years ago.. excited is an understatement!

Not confirmed just yet, Spanish League are awful when it comes to giving notice about anything.

You might be able to work it out from whatever European fixtures are on that week and when, like if Barca play Tuesday then they won't be playing the Sunday before.

Theyre playing Wednesday vs Celtic.. is it all but confirmed for the Sunday?

I can't really tell you, I'm going from Marca's fixture list, so it could be that it is but isn't official. All I know is these things are terribly organised in Spain.

I'd say one of the Barca fans in the thread might have a better idea.

Celta haven't been up in a while I think, perhaps before the Guardiola lift off in popularity. Last Celta game I remember was the opening game where Gudjohnsen scored a late winner

This is just brilliant! So rare to see professionals in this kind of setting. Apologies if posted already.

Victor Valdes and Piqué are both awesome footballers!! LOL at Valdes too wearing the Messi shirt

Andreu Fontàs has been loaned to Mallorca for the rest of the season. I find this a strange move considering how the team is struggling for defenders lately, I thought it would of been better to have him as cover on the bench. I could understand the move at the beginning of the season when there was'nt many injuries but at the moment the team is struggling to field a proper defence.

Hopefully he will get plenty of game time with Mallorca and build up some experience.

Are they playing the Wednesday prior or the Wednesday after? If its the prior, then you can be all but certain of a Sunday game. If its the latter, there is a high chance it could be on the Saturday.

Spanish FA are morons when it comes to fixtures.

Theyre playing on the 7th, which is a Wednesday. Saturday games are ususally reserved for Tuesday matches, right? So I'm pretty safe... right? :P

    Absolute morons is right!

Iniesta looks completely off the pace tonight. Haven't seen him play this bad in ages. His passing, touch and shooting are all off.

Pedro, looks incredibly sharp and on his game though.

Unfortunately, I can tell you for a FACT that the Celta match will be on a Saturday night.
EVERY Barca game that precedes a Champions League game is played of a Saturday.

You can go and check the Calendar for the last 3 years, always a Saturday.
I've done a few trips knowing this.

I've already booked flights and match tickets for a weekend in November too, the game before Moscow against Zaragoza.
Website has it as Sunday, but this will be changed to Saturday.

Trust me on this - it's Saturday , below are the previous calendar and fixtures lists, you can check yourself. Sorry dude :(

****e... I could always go to a different game I suppose, would have been a cracking weekend!

I am heading to Barcelona for a game in April next year. It is down for the weekend of April 20/21 and according to their website, a decision on the exact date isn't made until about ten days before.

The Champions League semi finals are down for the following tues/wed so assuming that Barcelona are in it would I be safe in thinking the game would be on Saturday evening?

Ryanair fly from Cork on Saturday mornings so my real question is there any history of Barcelona playing home games on a Friday night?????

Don't want to fly on Saturday and find that the game was the night before!
