    Hi folks

awoke this morning to several failed recordings, mainly kids programmes so not too bother over the missed progs but on checking the signal strengths I noticed that the 2nd feed wasn't locked, on further investigation I found the CT cable burned out at the F connector on the 2nd tuner, lots of "rust" type corrosion too.

I've stripped back the cable, added a new F connector and cleaned up the area, so everything is back working just curious as to why this would happen,
    is this a dangerous sign?
is the Sky+ box or LNB likely to fail soon?
    any ideas?

    thanks in advance

Water is getting into the cable possibly at the LNB so I would advise checking the cable all the way and seal with self-amalgamenting tape or perhaps change the effected cable, also make sure the wall is sealed where they enter the house....

You need to replace the cable as water is getting in at some point along the run.
Possibly if the cable was joined somewhere or if it is lying along the roof, it may have worn due to wind movement if it wasn't secured.
Repairing it isn't an option as there will still be water inside it.
