Swimming Plan

    Hey,

I used to swim for about 10-15 years but then took a 8 year hiatus for reasons i'm stll questioning myself over today.

So i've started going back to it by myself doing hour long sessions in one of the pools in town. I'm just trying to figure out how to fill there hour.

Initially i was just doing a warm up of about 500m front crawl and then practising underwater swimming by doing 8 x 25 metre lengths under water without taking any breaths with 30 second intervals in between each length.

Now i'm just getting stuck. I'm not sure if i want to join a club just yet as i want to go at my own pace and build up my fitness. So i'm wondering if anyone has any training plans or regiemes that they use when the go for swim.

    All and any advice appreciated.

    Cheers

    Mosey

I've got a coach training me at the moment, but when I was training on my own I used the swimplan website a lot, it provided at least a good base for a training session and then I sometimes changed it around depending on the day. They give you a warm up, then some drills, then a main set and then a cool down, which is a pretty standard swim session.
