Housemates making insane noise

I'm a student who usually goes home for the weekend. This weekend I stayed up to work on a couple of projects I need to do in college. I woke up just now at 3.30am to my housemates coming in with a huge group of strangers and proceeding to have a massive party. They both DJ so the music is really loud and so are the people.
I know I won't sleep tonight. My housemate gave me earplugs that don't work. My friend who also lives with us says they do it every weekend, and party all weekend long, and he just sleeps through it but I just can't. I don't know what to do, because if I decide to stay up at the weekends I basically won't sleep.
Should I talk to them about the partying? I just think its sort of unfair considering I pay the same amount of rent as they do, but they don't really seem to take anyone else into regard.
Its only been one night and I'm already at the end of my tether.

Hey, there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a word with them about he noise. Although if you run into the room now, you wont make much headway or win any friends. Wait till tomorrow and have a word. Hopefully they will realise that it isn't fair.

If they decide to have another party tomorrow night there is nothing stopping you turning on the speakers at 9 on Sunday morning and seeing how they like it when they are trying to sleep!

Switch off the main fuse and maybe they'll think its a power cut

I just think that if I talk to them they won't listen. I really think they consider this house their's over mine, which I know is ridiculous.
I just cannot cope with this, and its only been 2 hours!

Forget my advice - I think you should go with Skyuser's suggestion.

Haha that'd work if one of them weren't an electrician :pac:

So it's Fri night and they were having a party....at least they have the decency to confine it to the weekend and not have parties during the week. Talk to your housemate about the noise, if you get no joy, move out.

In most student houses, weekend parties are perfectly legit. Be glad it's not midweek.

Talk to them about it, you may be able to curtail parties around exam or hand-in time, but expecting more than that is probably not going to work. It's hard to stop partying you know :)
