Man jailed for cutting transvestite's throat

A 23-year-old homeless recovering heroin addict who slit a Filipino transvestite's throat after discovering he was a man has been jailed for three years.Vincent Murtagh, now of Stanhope Green in Dublin 7, met the male nurse, who was returning from a night out, and invited him back to his flat in June 2007.
The court heard Murtagh met the male Filipino nurse, who was wearing high heels and a mini-skirt, near Parnell Square in Dublin in the early hours of the morning.
They went back to the nurse's flat and engaged in sexual activity, after which the nurse told Murtagh that he was a man.
He purchased a Stanley knife and returned two days later to the flat, cut the victim's throat twice and left.
He went straight to the garda station and handed himself in.

That's mad. I was living in the apartment two floors above the nurse when it happened. I never saw the incident but a neighbour below was telling us that she saw him calling for help from his balcony with blood going everywhere.

We moved out not too long afterwards!
