I really must run this route once my legs recover from the last race

Does anyone have a Strava or Garmin Connect link to that route?

Some pictures from today's run in Bologna up to San Luca Basilica. First you cross a bridge into the portico and climb 500m over 1.5 miles up to the church, then a few views over the city from the top. A tougher run than I expected, especially given the 29 degree heat. Thank Jesus for the porticoes though :D

That's some run... we walked it when we were there, puffed up to the top only to find it closed!! It was worth it though. Enjoy Bologna, beautiful city. The park is nice for running too and quite central.

It's a great city. I actually lived here for a year way back as a student but was always to lazy to do the climb :(

Fair play to you running up there! How long did it take? :)

The Giardini Margharita is where we did most of our little runs over there. Followed by ice cream and/or beer, naturally.

Yeah I am staying right there and went for a run there yesterday but decided to do a longer run today and be a bit more adventurous. About 30 minutes up and down, not including stops for photos. This was the steepest part, about 11 minutes for that mile...

The closest I got to that was a stroll out to the stadium for a Bologna v Lazio match. I remember the guide book suggested a stroll up the hill but that was during the fat fun phase of my life so we said fup that, let's get some beers instead. Funny - we were glad of the porticoes for shelter from rain that day.

Bologna is great - eat well!

Last day in Bologna, a slightly better view of the city on today's run, pity it was so overcast though...

Lakes Muskry and Farbreaga, Glen of Aherlow, during the week. I think I spent more time taking pictures than running or walking... :D

Just back from Turkey, didn't do much running, but when I did it was hilly and hot...and sometimes dusty. With some snakes.

Photos of snakes.... or it didn't happen...

Here's mine.. Nearly ran over this little fella, asleep in the middle of a trail in California. Harmless apparently, but I didn't know that, so had to turn back.

Just back from a bit of a holiday in Germany, bit warmer than here as was over 30C some of the days so was glad of tree covered hills around my friends place.

Came from over there, note the well placed beer garden mid-run but needless to say didn't partake :)

    Heading to over there...

Fabulous. I thought you just had hairy legs. :D

As a Donegal person, I'm embarrassed I didn't recognise it instantly.

To the far left at the top of the lake the hotel I got married in last year.
To the far right at the bottom of the hill the hotel that I left the wife and child in as I went for a run up a hill.
To the far right behind the hotel the hill that I decided it would be a good workout to push a buggy up the day before. It was tough, and I was glad of the hand brake on the way back down. :D
