BMI Baby from Cork

I just saw that BMI are stopping their sevice from Cork to Birmingham from the end of March.

This is terrible news for me as I depend on them to see the girlfriend. As with Aer Lingus the only flight on a Friday is at 1.20pm and there is no return flight on a Sunday.

Any news on whether Aer Lingus will provide additional flights especially on Friday?

    Thanks.

It is unlikely in the current economic situation Aer Lingus would put any more than one flight per week. There were too many return trips on the service

You could always fly from Shannon....

They have 3 flights per week out of Cork.

The thing was the flight on a Friday night (am even getting one tonight) was always fairly full. Last Sunday the flight back to Cork with Aer Lingus was packed!

Fingers crossed that they will put on a Friday night service. I can fly to Waterford with Aer Arann on a Sunday and get the bus back to Cork..crap but thats looking like the only alternative at the mo.:(

Anyone know what date exactly their service is stopping? I have to go to Manc in the end of march and i am booked to fly from manc to cork on the 28th. I don't fancy having to go to dublin or shannon and face the bus trip back :(

You're alright, the route from Cork to Manchester doesn't end until the 11 April.

Thank god for that! Thanks for letting me know. Have been trying to get through to their irish customer service number with little joy and was starting to get nervous.

the amount of routes being cut is getting very worrying.

the amount of routes being cut is getting very worrying.

But in Cork's case it's not so bad, as Aer Lingus and Ryanair have announced lots of new routes for the Summer. However, this Summer Dublin will have a more limited long-haul route network as EI have cut flights to San Francisco and Washington, and Flyglobespan's demise means no service to Vancouver or Calgary.
