Getting tested for allergies

I dont know the first thing about allergies but i would like to get myself tested for allergies. Food allergies and environmental allergies. Im guessing my GP is the first step but is there anywhere i can ring up and make an appoinment and skip the gp. Or are the proper allergy testing done through gp's? Thanx

I know of two places.

One is Dr Paul Carson, who is a GP but specialises in Allergies.
