Big Wave, I would rather be someone who gets freaked out by a stalker harassing me, than .. a stalker who harrasses people on the internet.

Give the guy a break.

Loads of people do the whole "best thread ever", "epic", "genius" exageration thing and it doesnt take away from their integrity one bit. It's just how some people roll. It's kinda creepy that it bothers you so much.
