Potential dodgy buyer on ebay

I recently sold some items on ebay, as as usual all went fine. However one buyer did two no-shows (items were for collection) and so i lodged a non-payer dispute.

I am selling some other items and one of them has been bid on by someone who only joined ebay two days ago. i have a feeling its the non payer whos going just bidding on this to spoil the sale.

should i just block their bids? unfortunately the auction ends in about 10 hours, so i dont have much time on this.

As far as I know it is too late for you to block a bidder now. You should have set your bidder requirements before listing. Once a bid has been made you cannot set bidder requirements. You could, I think, end the auction early and give as a reason that the item is no longer available or you could say that there was an error in the listing. Remember next time to set bidder requirments to stop bidders with 0 feedback from bidding. :)

It wasn't bidder requirements that I have. I don't mind zero feedback bidders, I suspected a bidder was false.

I can, and in fact did, cancel the bid and I informed the user that was instructed to cancel the bid (white lie there) but I also said that they cab bid again. They probably won't but someone else will buy the item.

im at a loss to see why you would cancel a bid and then tell them to bid again!!

Set up your buyer requirements asap. if you dont like the look of someone, then cancel their bid straight away, dont wait til the last minuite (less then 12 hours) !! otherwise you'll have to lump it, and file an U.P.I

if you do file a UPI, you get your final value fee back and then if you relist it, you get an insertion fee credit aswell, so you only end up paying one set of fees for 2 listings

also, with troublesome buyers always ALWAYS register the post you send out to them. otherwise they can claim they never received it.

at least if you register it, you have your tracking number as proof.

if one particular buyer is causing you trouble, add them to your blocked bidders list... to do this go to the help pages and type in 'block bidder' follow the instructions from there
