Sending P60 to Revenue

A small rant on my part...

My OH sent a form into Revenue a couple weeks ago for tax back on tuition (works fulltime, studies part time).

A letter from Revenue has come back asking her to send in her P60! I was a little shocked, Revenue asking a P60. Surely something is amiss here.

Surely sorting out such irrational processes would go some way (really small yes, but every little helps as Tesco keeps telling us) in getting the governments finances back in order.

The Revenue do not keep copies of your p60. The closest you could get from the Revenue is a p21.

a p60 is issued from your employer. revenue don't hold your pay and tax details until we receive your employer's return in respect of his employees for the year. the reason revenue ask for your p60 is because Revenue didn't receive this employer's return in time(end of feb every year), so require your copy of the p60 in order to carry out a review of the year in question.
