Vox have a new small tube amp coming out called the Night Train. It's all tube 15W switchable down to 7.5W and looks pretty sweet. It reminds me of the THD Univalve. It also includes a nice little manbag carrying case. :pac:

Dolphin Music have it at £389.00. :)

Nicely styled alright, though you'd hope the metal top doesn't heat up too much :D

    That looks sweeeeeeeet!
Is it clean only or could this be a rival to the tiny terror and blackheart HT-5?

It looks tasty! I'm very tempted but still eyeing that Cornford Harlequin I was speaking to you about before. :p

I'll have to wait and see how my job situation goes. :)

I'd imagine it will be doing clean stuff and Voxy overdrive tones.

There are some demo's on Youtube but I can't view them here. :(

Here's a question which'll show my general ignorance to all things amp: Are Vox still the same old company from the '60s or were they taken over at some point recently? There seems to be a hell of a lot of new stuff coming out from them and it doesn't strike me as being very in keeping with modern English businesses.

It was sold to Korg in 1992. This would explain their foray into the digital world. :)

Yes it does indeed, that makes a lot of sense :D

    The youtube demos sound great.
Very bluesy, great distorted and clean tone.
    Also sounds great for rock.

I might have to buy one of these, great tone.

That reminds me of the Brian May signature amp that they had out a few years ago. I think it was supposed to be like his Deacy amp.

Hey, I've a bit of a claim to fame here!! :pac:
I got called for interview as a design engineer for Vox last August.
Vox R&D is over in Milton Keynes, tiny little place, and when I was over there they were working on the 15W and 5 watters.
I got to hang out for a while and got involved in a features discussion with the product manager and business division manager. At that time they had a Tiny Terror opened up on the table and they also had a Grainger Valve Junior and Fender Champ up on the bench. I think you'll notice some similarities between these amps. :)
They were asking what features I'd like to see in there and what I thought people wanted and were even asking what I'd changed in my own Harley Benton as they're a similar circuit.
I didn't take the job in the end but it was cool to go over there, I got to meet the guy who was working with Joe Satriani on the Satch pedal and saw some of the prototypes opened up.
Anyway that's enough shameless name dropping for one day!!

    Wow, that's pretty sweet!

I think a lot of these new small amps are based on the champ circuit somewhat. It is a proven design. :)
