    hi,

recently bought a lacie 1tb network drive and it works fine under "finder" and its seen as

    networkspace
    networkspace AFP
    networkspace SMB.

under the shared section on the devices section all the files I've copied to it can be seen/moved without issue.

however only the networkspace icon is shown under Itunes and once i click on it it says "loading networkspace" and after a minute or so defaults back to my Itunes library.

Did a search on apple and lacie support sites without any luck looking for a fix.

anyone tried this config and if so how did you get iTunes to work ?

    tia

Does the drive support an iTunes server? I think it has to, for it to be available and accessible under the "shared" section in iTunes.

An as an alternative, you could create an alias (in Finder) to the music folder on the network share and drag/drop it into iTunes to get all the music imported (just make sure your iTunes preferences are not set up to copy all your music to the default iTunes library folder!).

    hi,

thanks for the tip about the alias. afaik the lacie has a fully integrated itunes server but i will double check it.

    regards

Hopefully you'll get it sorted one way or another. Not too sure what (if anything) that you could check about the iTunes server functionality though... I have a Windows Home Server on my network that supports it and it just works, no real effort required. Does the Lacie have any configuration options you can access? Could the iTunes server be disabled by default (which would be very odd if that was the case)?
