    Hi all, reg poster here.

Probably a simple one but I'm incompetent at this kind of stuff. There's a girl texting me at the moment that previously I drunkenly hooked up with. I seen here again one more time before she got back with her ex which was grand really because I didn't want to see her again.

So I bumped into her again a few weeks ago and said hi etc an news, she broke up with the BF again and left it at that. So I bumped into her yet again the following week while we were both twisted and she started snogging me so I made my excuses and left promptly. My mate also took it upon themselves to say that I was into her even though I'm not :(

I text her the following to day to say that I'm not looking to be with anyone or hook up right now and don't want to lead her on so she said fine either am I. That was fine up until now. No contact until she's started texting multiple times a day, asking what I'm doing, what my plans are and generally anything to start a conversation. It's quite disconcerting and I'm not interested in being friends with this girl either. I want to get rid of her without being a prick basically as she's not bad at heart. One of my mates just said to ignore her texts and leave it be. Whats the best way of doing this?

From a girl, I would say ignore the texts.

Although if she is particularly thick skinned (or clutching at straws due to the previous meddling by the friend that said you were into her) she may not get the message even then.

If she is really persistant just reply "oh hi, yeh me and the girlfriend are going to the flicks later" -hopefully that should snap her out of it.

If you have no intention of even being friends with her then be honest and tell her outright. She might be hurt for a day but realise you werent worth it and move on. Honesty is the best policy!

you've already done what you were supposed to do when you told the girl what the story was, straight. The best thing to do now would be to just ignore her texts.

Ah but he only said he wasnt looking for a story "right now". She may be holding on for when he does want something. He should tell her that "they" are never going to happen cause he's not into her at all.

See she was fine with it but then started texting again. So she might think he's over that phase.

yeah - that's true alright. OP, the best way to handle it really is to try to see it from her point of view - you'll more than likely be in her shoes one day. Just try to be honest with her, but don't feel too guilty about it. The problem with guilt is that people hate feeling guilty and they lash out and say things they later wish they could take back.

Anyway, she text me while I was watching a DVD the other day and I forgot to reply. So I'm not going to bother getting in touch again as she is not pestering me anymore, exactly what I wanted albeit inadvertently reached climax.

Kiera your spot on, I probably wasn't straight enough with her in the beginning so if it does come to a head again I'll be heeding your advice.
