Same examiner as last time

    Hi

If you end up having to take the test again at the same test centre, is it possible to get the same examiner that failed you previously? Or do they organise it whereby they will assign you a different examiner from the last time?

Is it possible to request a different tester if you do end up with the same one as last time?

It is very possible that you will have the same tester again, there are a limited number of testers per centre and each has slots allocated to them. As for requesting another tester, i'm unsure, doesn't seem feasible to me though. The tester wont remember you, as much of a big deal as a test is for you, the tester does these numerous times a day everyday of the week.

There is no reason why you can't end up with the same tester - even in a different test centre. They move around to some extent, there is no automatic system where a different tester test's you.

When applying for your test, you can apply then for a different tester to test you than the last time.

Okay, thanks. Just have a feeling I'll get the same guy, as you said there are probably only a few per centre, so the odds are small.
It would really put me off though if I got him again, there will only be about 4 weeks in between my previous attempt and the next one so he should remember me, just feel bitter over failing as I thought I got it.

If you do get the same examiner again, you shouldn't worry.

Just do your best in the exam, remember all the mistakes you made in the last one.
Even if he does remember you, he's not going to hold anything against you.

This guy sees thousands of people a year doing tests, he doesn't care who it is, and neither should you. Just go for it, put all the "negative vibes" out the window when you go for the test and try your best. That's all you can do. Be confidant in your own ability, and in the work you've put in. Bitterness towards a "system", isn't getting anyone anywhere, learn from your last attempt and use it to your advantage.
Best of Luck with Everything, and worry about your driving, not the tester you get!

my sister got the same tester in raheny a few years back, she said it to him and the guy said if she wanted he would swap with one of the other testers, she said no and just done it again with the same tester and passed.

Thanks, yeah thats good advise but easier said than done, especially since I only failed it last week, but hopefully I'll be less bitter by the time I sit the next test :)

The tester is on your side. He just wants you to drive properly!
