Too numerous to mention favourites but one comes to mind...

Par 4: 4th at Courtown....I just love this hole

par 3: So many great ones. Waterville has 2 great ones but i dont remember the hole numbers. I love the second in Skeeries and Ashbourne.

par 4: The 18th hole in San Lorenzo (portugal). You can play safe down the right and hit the second over water or go for the carry over the water from the tee and leave yourself with a tricky half shot into the green. I'd never seen anybody make the carry, despite numerous efforts at great expense, then Darren Clarke was playing behind us one day......BOOM, he probably used his putter.

par 5: 10th (i think) in waterville. Its just a great hole where you have to place all 3 shots or alternatively have the option of going for it in two but as I recall this decision must be made from the tee.

    Favourite Par 3:

16th The Green Monkey, Barbados. unbelievable setting, great hole.

    http://www.sandylane.com/golf/greenmonkey_hole16.html

    Par 4

    18th Druids Glen

    or

    10th Royal Dublin

What you want in a Par 4. Tough but fair.

Par 5. Can't think of any off hand. 16th in the K club is a good hole.

Three crackers there Licksy, i just went with Irish courses as i thought not many would know ones i would've mentioned.

I love the 10th on Sunningdale Old. Gem of a hole. In fact, i love holes with elevated tees full stop. Just something about watching it sail and drop.

    From the ones I've played:

    Par 3 : the 3rd > Mount Juliet

    Par 4 : the 5th Lee Valley (haven't pared it yet !, but I will....someday)

    Par 5 : the 5th > Cork Golf Club

Delighted that someone else picked "Tranquility" as best par 5.
If you are lucky enough to be on the fairway there and get to walk down the middle with those massive banks on both sides... heaven on earth
(as long as you are on the fairway !)

savage hole often plays longer than the par 5 running alongside it

    proper index 1 !!

Par 3: Has to be the 16th at Carton (O'Meara). Carry from back tee over water to green.

Par 4: 18th at St. Andrews - played it few years ago and made par!

Par 5: Strange one, the 14th at Ardee - from the back sticks it takes 3 good strikes to get to green. Around 550 yards I think, approach to green is through a narrowing tree lined fairway with a bunker at front left to catch wayward shots. Really good.

par 3: 15th in muskerry about 160y shot to a green 100ft below

par 4: 5th in lee valley 475 of back sticks slightly uphill to a sloping green(a beast)

par 5: 18th in adare just a beatiful hole to finish a great course

Par 3 is also the 15th in Muskerry. one of those holes that you could play all day long happily.

Par 4 is 17 in Rosses Point. Prob the most difficult hole I've played.

Par 5 is the 2nd in Tralee. Super hole on a super course.

Par 3: 16th in Tralee, spectacular setting.

If you have the balls to hit it in the right rough off the tee, the 2nd shot plays about 40yds shorter

...he he, you mean golf balls !!! Actually, I nearly always end up there, but not intentionally ! In fact I've never made the green in 2, and its the type of green you could 3 or 4 putt. In fact, only recently they've removed the 'out-of-bounds' that this rough used to be, so it was even harder !!

Ok im just gonna say my fave holes on Carne, Co Mayo.

Par 3: 16th; 155yd hole that plays to a green below...where club selection could be anything from a wedge to a 4 iron. 1187962685_0254.jpg

Par 5: 13th; A 527yd hole that plays into the prevailing wind that comes off the atlantic ocean....with out of bounds all up the right and deep rough up the left this is one difficult hole.

And Finally Par 4: 17th:17th%20green.jpg A 430 yd hole which has a beautiful 360 degree view from the tee.......it is rumoured that the 2nd shot on this hole is the hardest in Europe......truely one of the best holes in the world!

Ye guys have played some amazing courses. I've never played golf abroad, only once or twice played outside my county. Got to get my act in gear.
I won't even bother mentioning my favs, as they'll either be in Blarney or Lee Valley.

Was on the green for a 3 foot birdie put there last week. Just edged passed the outside of the hole..... ball just ran and ran. Ended up nearly 10 foot from the hole.
Absolutely crushing to be walking off the hole with a bogey.
