Hi all. I have recently inherited a house after the bereavement of my parents and at the end of a very overgrown garden is a garage which has a 1976 Hillman Imp inside. The bodywork on the car is superb but as it hasn't been driven since 1986 it has completely seized up. I was intending just to give it away to anybody who could take it off my hands however after putting a message on the imp club forum I got an overwhelming response from people interested. Should I ask for money for it and if so how much?
It's in the UK by the way.
    Many thanks.

Someone will take your arm off for that car -don't worry - no need to give it away.

In the '90s, I rented a lock-up from an old lady in Bristol, so long as I cleaned out the 'old car and bike inside', to store my recently acquired Urquattro.

..so, after yanking open the near-seized door, I find a: Hillman Husky (the estate version). Holy Schweppes ! So, it had stood for 10 years. The radiator hoses had actually rotted, but we put petrol in, and a battery......it turned over, and a squirt of juice down the carb later, it fired, then ran !!

Oh, the bike. ? BSA. Gave that away too.

    oops :o

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

The Imp was built from 1963 to 1976 so your car is probably one of the last off the line.......

And if you compare a '63 car to a '76 car, you'll notice the later one is "made out of beer cans".
