Gonna get some new make up when I get paid, looking at Bobbi Brown eyeshadows!

    Anyone recommend them?

And also maybe a light foundation but that gives a good finish!

    Thanks in advance!:D

I love Mac make-up, I got the foundation and it has great cover. Can't wait to buy some more stuff of theirs.

I have Bobbi Brown's eyeshadow in Taupe, and it's lovely. It goes on and it stays on, and it suits my eyes (they're blue!). But I'm a bit meh over neutral colours. I love bright colours, and if that's what you're into, I'd try Barry M dazzle dusts... I'd nearly go as far as to say they're better than MAC pigments - and about a quarter of the price.

I'm not great at reccommending foundations, but beaut.ie did a good reader rated there on foundation recently:

Also one from them on budget foundations:

MAC Face and Body or the Make-up Forever equivalent are great light foundations with light/medium coverage.

Thanks girls appreciate the feedback, love buying make up!!!

I was looking at Bobbi Brown's eyeshadows where you pick the size of palette you want and fill it, could be expensive though once I get going!

Good woman may see you in Brown Thomas or Boots at the weekend so!

For eyeshadows, I prefer MAC over Bobbi Brown...Many more colors and seem to work better, particularly when used wet to line the eyes, at least on me. Do they have Stila there? If so, they make great eye shadows too, really fun colors both neutrals and brights.

Have you tried a tinted moisturiser? Prescriptives Traceless is a good one but might not be as much coverage as you're looking for.

Bobbi Brown actually do a great light water-based foundation which I love, I can only wear it in winter though as the colours are a bit limited and unfortunately I can't find a great match form their range for summer or over fake tan.

I like Chanel for eyeshaddow and lipstick. Rimmel are good for mascara and nailvarnish (I hate waiting for ages for my nails to dry, plus they do bright colours). I dont wear foundation or use cleanser/toner/moisturiser so dont know about them. Not a real makeup person so I buy the best.

I nipped into Brown Thomas last night, bought 5 mac eyeshadows although one of them wasn't one I wanted and I didn't check when I left, can't find receipt now think they'll let me change it?

    Happy with my buys though!!

That happened to me in BT's in Cork not so long ago and they changed it no hassle! I didn't have the receipt either but i remembered the girl who i dealt with!! :) I hear that if you return anything to Mac they have to throw it out, even if you haven't opened it? Anyone know if there is any truth in this?
I might go hang out near the MAC wheely bin!! :o:pac:
+ 1 on the barryM dazzle dusts, theyre really nice!!! Another 2 cheaper brands i find really good are NYX and Gosh!!

    I don't think so.

Don't forget about the Back2Mac recycling scheme where if you bring back 6 empty/used containers you get a free lipstick (except for Viva Glam range).

They do throw it out. Or recycle it I presume. They're not allowed re sell something that's been returned, even if it hasn't been opened.

Jeez that's harsh, maybe I should keep it so....

I never did when I worked there. If it was saleable then it was put back out on the shelves. Unless it's new a thing? Been three years since I worked there.

Linguo, what colours did you get? (just so I can go ooOooh, lovely, lovely!) :)

    :D

Want to also get an awesome tongs for great loose curls, my hair is naturally very straight which is good but get the hankering for waves now and again!!

Well I'm a Benefit girl... they have so many amazing products that really make a difference.

    I find Mac very heavy.

Must haves are Benetint and Benefit 10

I know where you're coming from Dlite, I like a well staying eye shadow though and the mac ones are great.

When it comes to foundation though I've given up fake tan forever so I find i need a very like powder or foundation so it doesn't look over done!

Where can you get NYX in Ireland besides online?

OP, don't place all your eggs in the MAC basket, there are plenty of other great products out there, especially eyeshadow-wise.

Ok i got soba, a brown-gold shimmer, shale - a purple gray shimmer, sweet lust with is a pinky sparkly number and graphology to smudge into my lash line with a bit! Got carbon (black one) by mistake instead of the olive green shimmer one i wanted but seems a waste to bring it back if they'll just chuck it!!

Carbon's a great colour for doing smokey eyes. And also good for lining the eyes. But if you have Graphology then maybe return it. Sumptuous Olive is a gorgeous colour.

I know they throw it away in the US anyway, I'm guessing they have the same policy everywhere.

Go here. They have shops in north and south Dublin and in Galway.

I'm also looking for a really great make up remover, especially for mascara as I worry about ending up wrinkly before my time from scrubbing it off!

Don't care about price as long as it's really good! Thanks in advance!

I have heavy eye make up and I used to use Simple's Eye Make Up Remover but I tried Clinique's Take the Day off one day and found all the mascara just wipes off without any scrubbing! So I now own it.

Chanel biphase eye makeup remover - give it a shake and with a little bit on a tissue or piece of cotton wool with one wipe its all gone!! Even my unmoveable waterproof mascara ;) Works wonders on fake eyelash glue as well! And the bottle lasts forever, think I paid around £15 sterling so not overly expensive, you definately get your money's worth!

If you have any way sensitive eyes don't use the Clnique Take the Day off. Stung the eyes outta me but it is a brilliant eye make-up remover. I just couldn't suffer the pain any longer! :( Try it out before buying even if it means getting your eye make0up taken off in the shop.

I've yet to find a better remover. Using the Body Shop Camomille one, Sh*te!
