Apologies if this is a very basic question, but is there any group / club informal or otherwise that does some “entry level” cycling in the Kilternan area (where I live)
It’s best part of twenty years since I did any half-serious cycling (other than a few miles on Sunday to get the newspaper) and I collect a new road bike at the weekend (Giant Defy 2.5). Aim is general fitness etc, no aim at this stage to race anyone anywhere.
I see lots of bikes zipping by every weekend, but would be a bit shamed until I get into a bit of shape….:(

On a seperate issue, the bikes are %$%%$ brillant now. Last drop handle bike I had must have weighed 3x what the new one does. My 4 year old was able to lift the Defy off the ground no problem!

You get the odd race on the way back from Rathdrum, through Glenealy, but that's just some of the lads smelling the coffee in Ashford, but yes, it is a touring spin, for ALL levels of fitness, There will always be someone to help out strugglers, as we have all been there, and still go there. No one gets left behind.
