Sounds like either the traction control or brake pad wear indicator..is it red or yellow?

Yep - that's the one. My guess is that it is yellow. Press your ESP or ASR button - see if that cures it......... If not then it needs to be hooked up to a diagnosis tool.

Its red. Had pads done last week, never seen this error before

Check your brake fluid level. As you've just had pads replaced, I'd imagine your fluid level should be OK.

Has the light been on since the pad replacement?

Were the pads replaced with original ones? They need to have the little wire on the pads for the wear indicators......

sounds like the symbol for traction control as said above. Does your abs still work?
It could be that one of your abs sensor was moved slightly while the brake works were being carried out. Traction/skid control cannot function without the abs sensors. So first thing I would do is see if your abs functions by braking hard and trying to skid the car.

new error after pads were replaced. I did top up the brake fluid, could I have put too much brake fluid in ?

As suggested before - it sounds like incorrect pads. It should have no adverse effects on braking but the wiring is probably wrong. Common enough when spurious pads are fitted.

If your fluid is between MAX and MIN then that's not the problem.

I wouldnt agree with this at all. If the pads were not wired up right, only the pad wear thickness light would appear (same as before the pads were replaced)

Please check if your abs still functions.

Spurious pads. I missed the posts on this.

    ABS will check.

How much is a set of Audi ones?
I paid 100 to have fast fit tyres fit front ones inc parts / labour.

I wasnt impressed with the fact they had no BS or ISO marks on the box when I asked to see the pads.

Yes - I take your point, usually the wear indicator warning lamp is only affected by incorrect pads - unless incorrect wiring is inducing another fault. I'm making my assumption on the fact that fault has only manifested since the brake pad change.

OE pads bought at a dealer would be €80 or so. Identical pads, original equipment bought at a motor factors would be a good bit less.
I would be 95% sure its not a problem with the pads.

My god its the wrong weather to have the wrong pads or no abs.

Even though it so cold Im tempted to go out and slam on the brakes.
    (In a safe place)

I get your point re the problem only showing up since pad replacement but the number of times Ive seen abs sensors moved after brake work is un real. It strange cause there is no reason to go anywhere near the sensor when replacing pads.

Yes the pic attached is the error.

Apols for no update I couldn’t find the post.

It seems to be an intermittent error. I see it for an hour or two every three days. My abs and breaking work fine with or without the error.

I had that light come on when I got the steering rack replaced on my A4 but when I got the tracking done it disappeared

I had the wheels computer aligned when I got the pads done so I might just go back to the place that did the pads and ask them what they think.
