Anderson to Switch to PDC this week?

I've seen and heard a lot of rumours circulating this week that Gary Anderson will be joining the PDC this week, most probably to be confirmed on Thursday if these rumours are to be true. People may argue that you hear these rumours every few months. I've seen three other darts forum's today and all have the same story.

What is your view on this?

Yeah rumour has it that it will be announced during this weeks Premier League that Anderson is moving over. It's also rumured that asecond major player, probably Mark Webster, will be moving over the following week.

If this is true then it's great news because both are top players and can easily make the top 16 and higher.

Yea i'd go along with that, and theres always room for more competition, Anderson is a serious player and i think he'd do well, if the rumors are true...

He'd easily shift osborne, painter or manley before long from the top 16

The rumour I heard is that Webster will be announced tomorrow night at the opening of the Premier League and Anderson will be announced next Thursday night at the PL, which would make a lot of sense seen as it's on in Edinburgh that night

    Webster has signed for Team Modus in the PDC, have a look at this;

Interesting although doesn't necessarily mean that he has switched over. All will be revealed tomorrow I suppose.

Scratch that. Webster has officially signed on as a PDC player. It will be announced tomorrow. Gary Anderson is also a definite and will make his PDC debut on March 7th in the players championships tournament.

Three other unnamed players are also in negotiations to make the switch.

    Great news!
What site did you get this news from?
I searched a few sites for it.
Whitlock could be one of them as I think he's moving to England

I got it off another forum. A person in know said they were definites :)

Yeah heard that Whitlock is moving to Wolverhampton so he is probably one of them. The other two I would have a guess at would be Scott Waites and Gary Robson.

I like Whitlock, unique style and look, a definite addition to the PDC ranks

When was that site last updated?
It just looks like the Mervyn King switch to me!
    Gary Anderson will switch.

Dave Hanson is an MC for him in Scotland and sometimes in England and gets some work for him too on the exhibition circuit. He's not his manager or spokes person.

Ignore that, he has to say that. Dave runs the Men In Black exhibition team that Gary Anderson and Gary Robson play on and he has been constantly saying that Anderson won't be moving even though everyone knows that he will be. He posts on a forum that I look at and he has started to say no comment instead of saying he isn't switching.

    Anderson will be switching.

I knew he would switch if he didn't win the BDO championship, good time to do it as well Uk open coming up in a little while should be right up his street, he always said he was a better floor player then stage player. fair play to webster didn't think he would move but should done well in the PDC. Hope whitlock and gary robson move over, robbo might move because of anderson. if all these move what will the BDO have left, Martin adams is a good player but there losing real talent if anderson, whitlock and webster go. if the BDO last more then five years more it would be a miracle(hope it doesn't fold allways good to watch over the xmas)

I doubt it will ever fold... it develops players from grassroot level and will always stay in some sort of way. I'm not really sure if Anderson or Webster will do very well. Both are incredibly inconsistent. I've often seen them throw averages in the low 80's:eek:

True but their opponent was probably throwing a low 80's average as well. Usually if your opponent is playing well that will make you play better and improve your average. Lets of poor enough players in the BDO so it's hard to play your best game against a poor opponent.

Sorry to just copy and paste, but....

    Early career

Wade reached the final of the British Classic in 2001 at the age of just 18, losing to John Walton but the following year he won the Swiss Open and then made his television debut at the 2003 Lakeside World Championship, but lost 2-3 in the first round to Dennis Harbour. In other BDO Open events during 2003, he reached the Norway Open final, Belgian Open semi-finals and Dutch Open quarter finals.
At the 2004 Lakeside World Championship, he beat Shaun Greatbatch 3-0 in the first round, before losing to Darryl Fitton in the second round. Later in 2004, he reached a series of quarter-finals including the German Open, the Isle of Man Open and the prestigious International Darts League in May - which would be his last tournament as a BDO affiliated player.
    [edit]PDC switch

In May 2004, despite having qualified for the final stages of many BDO tournaments, Wade took the decision to forfeit his automatic place in the 2004 World Darts Trophy and 2005 BDO World Championship to join the Professional Darts Players Association (PDPA) and the PDC circuit.
