Hi, Just wondering if anyone can help me, i'm considering doing the Dublin to Paris 500km challenge. I've recently gotten back into cycling and fitness is relatively good. I have however never completed long cycles (in excess of 100km) back to back. The cycle takes place the 19th of July. Could anyone recommend a training programme. i'm aiming to finish this in a decent time as opposed to racing it. I would consider myself a biginner.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

take it easy at the start and build up slowly. Foundation is key. Increase distance by 10% a week. If you are able to do significant distances already (75km+) then start doing some long spins back to back.

I think this is being run by Irish Cycling Safaris. If this is the case then the pace will be fairly relaxed and it will be paced. I doubt there would be much scope for "racing" or "finishing in a decent time".
