:( I'm so mad..fell in love with my wedding dress, searched everywhere to see if I could get it cheaper..couldn't. I have 2/3rds of the dress paid for. Anyway was ordering my bridesmaid dresses from USA and happened to ask if they had my dress in stock and they had, worse again it was €1,000 cheaper. I'm heartbroken..do I have any comeback from the shop??

    Did you sign anything?

They have no obligation to refund you I wouldnt think unless you can come up with a good excuse! I certainly wouldnt tell them you saw it cheaper they will just dig their heels in and tell you tough shoite.

Well I don't think I'd leave it. I'd certainly say it to them - they might refuse but at least you'll have tried!

Eh, why should the shop pay for your choice to not look online in the first place?

Turn up at the shop and tearfully explain that the wedding has been cancelled, due to infidelity.
That might get you a sympathetic refund.

Yeh my sis suggested that..only problem shop is local and know work in other departments..wouldn't have the nerve + getting mens suits there!

How are you being ripped off? When you made the purchase back in August it was not available at the lower price at the second store, it wasn't available at all. Now, a number of months later it is available and is, surpise surprise, cheaper. It's like flights, you take your chances when you purchase - prices may increase or decrease. Would you be complaining if you found out the second shop was selling the dress for twice the price? If you want to hit the shop up for a discount then hit them up for a discount, but don't complain you're being ripped off when you were happy to pay the higher price in August in order to secure the dress.

They have you over a barrell then dont they. Its just unfortunate. Bit like buying a new TV and then seeing it in a sale in January for a few hundred
    quid less.

The name of the game is to shop around but sometimes its just bad timing. Fact is you were happy to pay the price at the time so no point grumbling about it now. Just forget about it and move on and enjoy the rest of your wedding plans :)

Don't see how you were ripped off tbh. Things are cheaper in America, more expensive here, thats hardly a shocker. Thats due to many reasons that I won't go into, but retailers in Ireland can basically charge whatever they feel the market can stand.

If you went to america and saw that certain brands of t-shirts or jeans were cheaper, would you go in and complain that they were ripping you off? Thats just the way the cookie crumbles and bridal is exactly the same as other retailers in this respect.

If you signed a contract, you have no chance of getting back any deposit you have paid.
