Another good turnout in The Four Seasons in Monaghan tonight with 32 players (despite the heavy snow which kept quite a few players away) this is now a weekly event on the Hibernian Poker circuit with player numbers expected to rise further over the coming weeks. A total of €1,420 in prize money plus €160 in scalp chips saw the winner take home €745 (not bad considering he didn't rebuy or top up so spent €25 for the night).
The Slieve Rossa in Cavan town tomorrow night should get 25 to 35 players as usual...

It's great to see a regular game in Monaghan now Mick. But unfortunately you're going to have to change your website to www.cavan-monaghanpoker.com. :D

There seems to be plenty of interest in the Monaghan game now. Hopefully it snowballs to 40+. And hopefully I never see as bad a cards as I did last night ever........ever.......again. My bad........should be keeping that comment for the "moans, bad beat column".

    Who won it out?

You should defo come along. Mick only moved the game to the four seasons two weeks ago but he's going to keep it a regular cause of the turn outs. Maybe with bigger turnout we could crack Arva as the 3rd biggest pub game in the country. Maybe get a Friday night spot......:)

Orin H won it out (€700+€45 in scalps) with mark Reilly second (€300 + €30 in scalps) and Alan 3rd (€150 + €20 in scalp) 4th got €100 and 5th €70, the rest of the final table all won entries into next weeks game as did the best hand.
Thanx for the interest Irsihkelt, make sure and introduce yourself to me next Tuesday, always nice to meet boardsies.
As for a Friday night spot, as soon as my brucepoker league finishes in Arva (Early April) I plan to start alternating my Friday games between there and Monaghan fortnightly.
As for changing the website name: NEVER!!! Its bad enough that a Monaghan man won the Cavan Open in 2007 and came 2nd in 2008. The Breffni Blues will never bow down to your oppression CHAOS. You may beat us on the card tables but you'll never break our spirit!!!

Not many boardsies as yet, we have Chaos from Haden and Big Iain as regulars, but its only just really getting going now, more to follow i've no doubt (its lashed snow the last two weeks i was there)
I'd expect 40 plus next Tuesday, the payout structure for this game last Friday (in Arva) with 55 runners was :
    1st: €1,000
    2nd: €480
    3rd: €320
    4th: €220
    5th: €180
    6th: €140
    7th: €120
    8th: €100
    9th: €80
as well as this I had €265 in scalp money, most of which went to the last 9 players (although the guy who finished 11th got €65 in scalps!!!)
If I have a similar turnout numbers wise in The Four Seasons, we can expect the same pay out.
    See you Tuesday

    2nd Alan Bish €300
    3rd Chip €150
    4th Saint Pat €100
    5th Ollie O'g €70
Best hand €20 was Lorcan Fox
