Been listening to Shad K - The Old Prince a lot lately, and a few months ago came across Abdominal - Escape from the Pigeon Coup and they are both pretty bumpin, just wondering if anybody could recommend any other Canadian Hip-Hop albums.

Shad's first album is worth a look, if not as good as The Old Prince.

    Noah 23
    Josh Martinez

Choclair - had so much potential but seemed to disappear under the radar a few years back and released one or 2 albums. some great songs but some really bad ones too.

Yeah, that's the one i'm talking about in my previous post, there is a lot of fluff in between some really decent songs. The guy has an incredible flow.

I agree. Joyful Rebellion is an excellent album. I've been meaning to check out a guy called Cadence Weapon too.

check k'naan (somalian, but living in toronto) and kardinal offishall (not all of his stuff is that good, fiddles around with mainstream a little bit too much imho, but be sure to listen to his collabos with marco polo, dj babu, promoe [check out promoe and looptroop if you haven't done it yet, but they're swedish, therefore it's a whole new topic]). moka only is quite interesting too (is he a part of swollen members? i know he was supposed to be).

oh, and check out factor - he's a beatmaker, his 2008 lp 'chandelier' is really good.

oh, yeah, hoping to start a whole new thread:

I came accross a couple of mp3's on my machine, a few of Choclairs early 12" that a buddy of mine converted before he had released an album and they are excellent. Dont have the names of the songs to hand at the moment but i'll update later when i get home.

EDIT: Just a Second and What I Takes

did you manage to give this a listen yet?
