X-forged

    Hi

    Anyone here playing x-forged ?

I played a few holes with a demo this afternoon and I like it.
I think it looks great at address, and a great looking club in general. This was the old model x-forged, they didn't have a demo of the 2009 club yet.

I hit it reasonably well, and hit a few side by side with my i10. Didn't notice any real difference in distance or ball flight. It was very cold and windy so not ideal conditions for testing out new clubs, but on the other hand maybe it was good to see how I'd fair with the club in standard Irish weather.

Before the i10's, I had a set of x-tours that I really liked, but I changed to the Pings impulsively on seeing a bargain. I like the i10's, but I'm starting to find the head a bit bulky looking down at it. Another minor thing is that I think I prefer chrome looking clubs as opposed to the darker finish of the Pings.

I took a Ping S58 demo out too but hated it immediately - didn't like it at address and it felt very heavy. Maybe the S57 might be nicer ?

So I'm interested to hear of anyone playing x-forged or maybe anyone else that demo'd them. Also like to hear suggestions of what else to try out.

    Thanks
    Kevin

I have the x-forged and the x-tour, I didn't notice a big difference between them, the forged are a litttle harder to hit from the rough. Othherwise they are pretty similar. Will prob sell on the x-tour soon.

have x-tours myself and a mate has the older x-forged (bit of red design on back of head maybe 05/06 model).......
we often hit each others clubs for a change
i find very little difference in the clubs except below 5iron
then i'm happier hitting my own as the head is slightly bigger so its probably down to a confidence thing
he also says he finds it easier to work the ball with his own clubs

    i'm off 7 he's off 2
    dunno if that helps any

The Ping S57 is a nice club, hit it recently. Mite be an option to stay in ping's with the chrome look.

The new 09 model of the X forged looks nice but havent hit it yet.

The other models in the range worth looking at IMO would be Callaway X-22 Tour (mite look a bit chunky fo you tho), Mizuno MP-52/62 and Titleist AP2.
