My father in law was telling me that he read in the paper, Kenny and Ryan are refusing to take a pay cut, so RTE are considering putting up the licence fee.
This is a complete farce if it's true. Have RTE no balls at all? Ross was TOLD he was having a PAY CUT in England to help with the financial situation wasn't he?

A complete rip off yet again!!!

    There is that as well.
One's a useless boring twunt and the other is a big mouthed bragging cocky facker.

I'll let you work out which one is which. :D

I wouldn't put it past RTE to try and get the increase but I'm sure they'd try come up with a more acceptable excuse than paying those two otherwise they'd know there's no way they'd get the increase in the current climate.

Mind you they've done nothing to justify any other increase they've ever been given so maybe they will end up getting it.

    It was in a paper.

If this is true then they should be forced to take a pay cut or told to **** off. If everyone else is going to be forced a pay cut then I do not see how these two can think they are exempt.

What complete and utter bollix. You're telling us that Kenny or Ryan refusing taking a pay cut is forcing RTÉ to increase the licence fee? Strange, I didn't realise reducing a fraction of their salaries would result in a €50 million windfall for the station. That is the shortfall to be made up at the broadcaster this year alone.

Kenny and Ryan both signed contracts for their services. It would be a pleasant gesture to see them rowing in with everyone else, but they're certainly not obliged to nor should they if they do not wish to.
