Mondeo - how to find the colour code

hi, I have a stone chip on my bonnet - how do I find out the exact code of the colour (it's silver, but I know the mondeo has a few shades of silver0.............i've checked under the bonnet and in the door sills......

there should be a vin plate near one of the lights

There should be a sticker type VIN tag on the door pillar, driver's side. Has the chassis number and lots of other info on it. I'd expect it to be black with white writing.

On the left hand side of the tag there is a column of boxes with one or two letters/numbers in each. The paint code is the second up from the bottom. Format is a letter followed by a number, eg. panther black is M3, metropolis blue is A1, etc.

PM me your vin no(bottom of windscreen) & i will tell you the colour.
