    Hi all,

I signed on there on Thursday gone. I have to return with some documentation which will delay it somewhere by a few days but in the light of the current climate, what is the average waiting time for payment?

They are busy these days, and it depends on what extra info they need from you etc. The answer is (without being smart)

"How long is a piece of string?"

Shouldn't take more than a few weeks though, vague and all as that is!!!

I signed on 12th November and collecting first payment today. I know others who have waited from 1 month to 4 months.

As previous poster said how long is a piece of string!

Holy crap thats ridiculous! Do they ever get things right in this country? I'm hoping to start a new job in march so it looks like I will be back in work before any payment!

I've been waiting nearly 9 weeks for JSA, still yet to hear back from them about setting up a means test in which you have to confirm the details/documentation that are included in the application.

a friend on J.S. Benefit had it in 5 weeks, but that was back November....

    so probably something like:
    JSB - 5 weeks+
    JSA - 10weeks+
