I have a great corolla van and was thinking of putting seats in it. i know some guy who said he'll do it no problem but is there alot of hassle with it? seat belts, nct instead of doe, tax etc. do i need to pay vrt on it then. its a 1999 2.0L diesel van but i don't want to get rid of it. everyone says it'll go forever a similar aged car would cost me bout 3k and can't afford it. thanks

You'd get a similar sized Colt, Mazda 323 for around 1k

I would sell the van you have and get a car, stuff like Primera's, Carisma's, Mazda 626's can be had for nothing now.

    Fine motor here for you.

I generally wouldn't bother going down that root. It'll be alot hassle. Just sell the van and buy it's equivilant car.

way too much hassle buying all the bits then having them installed a lot of the older vans had the seatbelt mounting points filled with weld as was the regulation at the time so new ones woul have to be made and an engineers report done on them then bring to car to customs and deal with all the hassle down ther just for the permission to pay them even moree money and then the dreaded NCT and dont forget that you road tax will be higher forget it just buy a different car so much easier to convert the other way around best of luck J (Auto Electrical Concepts)

thanks, the consensus is that its too much hassle. i'd say the red tape is worse than the physical alterations. pity cos i don't want to part with it:(
