Much as you'd like there to be a sinister explanation, it's because Help Desk is only accessible by certain people so once the thread got moved there, any posts from those who cannot access it got deleted (including my post - do you think yours were the only ones deleted or something?) as they were superfluous.

And I'm starting to feel the urge to punch people who are going on about the mods sticking together.

Seeing as Ledgehammer, Da Bounca and Funky are all posting from the same IP address I think we can safely assume this is just defend-your-mates-to-the-bitter-end.

The only genuine clique operating here is your own, ironically.

Heh, that's funny. Thank you for the explanation it makes alot more sense. But you see, when the mod who did it ignores your pm, and multiple requests of an explanation go unanswered, well you know.

Now wouldn't it have been much easier for me to get that reply without your snide undertones? 8)

Yes, I do know DaBounca, he's my brother infact. That doesn't change that I thought he was unfairly treated and I thought I'd vouch my opinion on this forum. I still think this was all dealt with badly but obviously criticism wasn't welcome and I stopped posting. Just noticed this today and I thought I would respond.

    Thank you for clarifying.

And CuLT yes I'm obviously defending-to-the-bitter-end-in-full-knowing-of-my-wrongness-cause-you-know-my-'clique'-is-so-important-to -me cause it's not like there's been any, you know, fair arguments being discussed in this. Give me a break. I don't care if anything is done about this I didn't really care to begin with but I thought I'd add in my comments. I understand where people are coming from with the whole 'the rules are the rules follow them or banned' but call me nostalgic or whatever, I dunno, this isn't how boards used to be. If you're understaffed don't just take dumps on people, get more mods.

I remember how Boards used to be.
You could get away with saying just about anything because there was only a few thousand of us and the site was managable.

There is now over 200k registered members and the site is a whole new kettle of fish.
A certain amount of order and rules are needed or else we will have chaos unfortunately.

Sometimes when you give snide, you get snide.
call me nostalgic or whatever, I dunno, this isn't how boards used to be.
There are plenty who'd agree with you on that one, including mods. Times change.

If people dislike the site so much, and dislike the mods so much, why bother post here?

I assume that mcdonalds business at the top of every forum has something to do with the shift? ;)

theres too much invested in the site to have someone piss it away on a 'suit.

Actually, as someone who's not a member of the Boards.ie "old guard", I find all those "Boards ain't what it used to be" musings (from mod and non-mod alike) fairly cliquey.

i thought that would be fairly obvious, since most of the old gaurd came here to talk about games which they played with each other (quake, CS, TFC etc.) clans and teams formed out of these games and they all went to LANs together and got to know each other. so yes, there were obvious cliques and there still are. im just annoyed i got in late on the whole LAN & gaming scene here as from talking to some of the oldies it sounded like a right larf.

boards now reminds me of something that used to be deadly before it got too commercial. like Journey

Actually, I find any cliquish behavior really sad. Really really sad. You know, when people just agree with you for the sake of agreeing with you?
I'll see you in a couple of years on that one.

Exactly, being PC or Non PC, just for the sake of it. See that regularly on here, especially the being Non PC, just for the sake of it.

I'd be liberal and PC on some issues, right wing on others. I love the free 3rd level fees one, I'm right wing, though a socialist, in wanting fees.

However, I don't look at a topic and go, "I'll be a right wing, anti-pc'er just for the sake of it". Even liberals get it right now and again, as do right wingers.

Basically, free thought, don't follow perceived agendas.

Moderate here. Only interested in what's fair and sensible - whether it be to the left or right.

Um... would you have any interest in standing behind me while I play some poker perhaps? :)

This thread has meandered far and wide. I'll try to get back to the substantive issue in it tomorrow. After that it has a short life expectancy.

Sorry, GreenJokerPoker is having its big weekend this weekend (and I forgot in all activity this week) so I havent had a chance to read back and review this thread. I'll try to get to it sometime over the weekend but it has to take a backseat. I prefer to have an hour or so and read each serious reply before considering things though to be honest, I doubt I'm going to see past Kawasaki = Paki = no no.
