some ag science programmes don't satify teagasc

    Anybody hear about this? That
    1. Food Science
    2. Agri-Environmental Science
    3. Engineering Technology

    after the study of which you get your degree in Agricultural Science do not satisfy teagasc requirements to qualify as a 'trained farmer'. Students who studied these programmes as part of their Ag Science degree have to come back to UCD and do extra modules if they want to farm. Can anyone throw any light on this?

    Studying engineering in UCD doesn't qualify you as a car mechanic, similar situation with the Ag Science degree and farming. Check with the school to see what else you need to do to meet teagasc requirements...

    you can be a farmer without the qualis but you don't get the grants
