10 Speed cassette

Is there any way I can run a 10 speed shimano cassette with 8 speed shifters or is the spacing way off?

You would also have to replace the chain. STI shifters are very expensive though, and Shimano 10 speed only starts at the 105 level, so unless you are specifically looking to upgrade to 10 speed it would be a lot cheaper to get an 8 speed cassette.

Yup - I've noticed that shifters are fairly expensive alright but I've come across a set of 105 shifters on CRC for £99. That's good going, although they're out of stock at present.
