Ireland Inc 2009 we are FCUKED
Rioting is getting more likely to happen.

Over the next few weeks the government will need to cutback 4 billion, then in a few months it will be 8 billion, then next year they will realise actually its 20 billion.

150,000 people extra will be out of a job this year.

Anglo will go down with 40 billion of toxic debt.

The other banks have hugely inflated asset values and will plummet too.

Then the service industry will collapse.

Anyone who bought a house from 2001 will be in negative equity.

In 2010 4 Families will be living in 1 house, to share expenses.

The rich will not be safe anywhere.

The veil has been lifted from the public.

    Stop scare mongering!

We need a competent government, capable of tackling the public sector, we need rowing back on stupid promises made to banks. We need to make it easier and cheaper to do business in Ireland.

We should support and cherish small and medium Irish businesses, not try to bleed them dry with taxes, levies, rates and red tape.

    This is the way out.

Where are we gonna get one of those

BTW I agree with your points, but if it takes this crowd 4 months to decide to talk about what to do, then the only option is to go in now and remove them from power today.

I saw this someplace and thought I would share

    1. Do you know what the national deficit is? It's unsustainable.

    2. The country will be bankrupt within 6-12 months on the current trajectory.

    3. Xmas tax-take is going to be dismal which will only accelerate matters.

    4. And if the Germans can't raise money on the government bond market, what hope have we Irish?

    5. We're on the road to hell and nobody is willing to acknowledge it.

    6. 5% contraction of the economy by the end of this year.

    7. Predicted 100.000 jobs lost by the end '09.

They go to the IMF for emergency loans and sell their souls in exchange. I've been in a country that owed money to the IMF and it is not pretty. When they paid off the loan it was like a national party.

BUT, this is scare mongering. The Irish problems are not unique. So, whatever the answer proves to be for other countries it is likely to be applicable to Ireland. If we were the only ones in this situation I would be far more worried considering the bunch that is running this country.
