Favourite TV show as a child

Just reading about Rimini Riddle there (which sadly I didn't ever watch due to a refusal to watch Irish TV as a kid) and it made me think of the shows I used to love to watch as a kid.

    Mine were:

    Round the Twist
    Clarissa Explains All
    Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
    Live and Kicking
    Blue Peter
Newsround (well, you had to, it was between BP and Neighbours)
    Grange Hill
    Byker Grove
The Odyssey (did anyone else watch that? I know he woke up but then decided not to or something, anyone else remember what happened?)
    X-Men
Batman (the cartoon, which was quite dark)

    What were your favourites?

Apologies if this was done before, did a quick search and couldn't find it

Fortycoats! Who remembers Slighty Bonkers? Only joking!biggrin.gif I actually detested most RTE children's shows apart from Bosco which was bad but in a good way. The tongue twisters were good.

It's all coming back to me now.
I preferred the Márla Men and those guys who lived in the Supermarket.
The McSpuds was it? (what an Irish sterotype).
I'm so old I can remember what children's TV was like prior to Dempsey's Den.
    Remember Thelma Mansfield?

I'd also forgotten the Fresh Prince of Belair.
Remember those scenes with Carlton and Tom Jones, classic...

    P.S. Was 'Slightly Bonkers' fit?

    The Real Ghostbusters
    Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors
Garfield and Friends (although I hated Orson's Farm bits)

Knightmare - we used to recreate this in the hay-shed with some planks on top of bales.
Maid Marian and her Merry Men - Utterly brilliant, I think Dick and Dom have now ripped it off for their new show.
Art Attack - with Neil Buchanan (still on the go I think)
Fun House - #It's a whole lot of fun, prizes to be won, it's a really wacky show where anything goes#

The Moomins. The fuzzy felt ones made in Poland and re-versioned by Central TV in the UK. Used to air daily on CITV. I recently tracked down the box set of all 100 episodes from Germany. Beautiful mix of cut-out and limited cel animation and stop-frame model animation; stunning. I showed it to my two year old however and it terrified him. Might leave a few years before re-visiting ...
