Is it possible to increase your height by an inch?

Hello there! Just wondering about something. Is it possible for me to grow an inch (without mad shoes or spiking my hair!). I'm 19, male and about 5 foot 7 inches tall.
I think I heard before that you can do streching exercises in the morning that will straighten your spine more and make you appear taller?
Is it likely that my growing days are over with regards to height?
Also, are there any, probably protein rich, foods that one can eat to increase height, even slightly? :pac:

Well most males stop growing between 18-22 so there might be a chance, but you won't grow a full inch. Straightening exercises are alright, but should only work if you are already slightly kyphotic (hunched over), and protein foods will do nothing to increase your height, they are used for muscle growth, repair and as a food group.

What DOES control growth is HGH (Human Growth Hormone) and Testosterone, both are hormones so you cannot willingly control them. On another note, don't be ashamed of your height, 5'7" is perfectly normal height for a man, i'm 5'9" myself and what i do to stand out is always keep my posture correct, my head level and my face showing:)

Depending on the person, I didn't reach my stately 5'9" until 23, so ya never know! But other than that, the other poster is correct, posture can help a little. I know of Garda applicants who failed for height reapplying early in the morning to be accepted(before the body settles)- but we're talking 1/4" here.

Everyone is different, some men stop in their teens, some in their early 20's. There are no guarantees, but if you want to give yourself a fighting chance, stick to a healthy diet, make sure you're getting enough of all the essential nutrients and get lots of exercise & fresh air, limit toxins like alcohol, nicotine & caffeine etc. as much as possible.

What difference will an inch make? You won't notice it and neither will anyone else.

Well its always good to be a bit taller and I assumed that if it was possible to grow taller through your own actions that an inch would probably be as much as one could hope for.

Rosanna Davisson was on talking about Pilates the other week, saying that it has added an inch to her mother's height. Course she was trying to sell a video. I'm 5'8, nothing you can do about it. Just focus on things that you can change.

Nail, meet head:) As a qualified instructor though, i can say Pilates IS good for stretching out muscles and fixing posture though.

This is the most important line, keep the head up and the confidence...nobody will notice it:)
