ok the parents were thinking of trading in this year for it just to have the new one. they always trade in every three years but they currently have a 2007 opel vectra 1.6 petrol hatchback life 35000km. they were thinking of trading in now for the new model. they wont get to the dealer next week. how much do you think they will be paying with the new car. if will be the cheapest diesel one they will get or maby just the model above. long story short how much do you think they will have to cough up.

How long is a piece of string?

It depends on what model Insignia, what engine, what optional extras, etc.

Impossible for anyone here to give you exact numbers on that.

Also, there is currently a long thread here about the Insignia.

How much did it cost them to trade last time? Take that figure, triple it and you're probably not far off.

No one, yet alone a dealer with a forecourt full of cars he's loosing money on, wants a 1.6 Opel Vectra.

Unfortunately you will get a very, very poor trade in for the Vectra. There are so many 05-08 Vectra's / Mondeo's / Avensis' etc around.
We were in the same situation with an 05 Vectra a few months ago and the offers were pitiful - can only be worse now!

The bog bog standard Insignia is around 26k. They go up in price from there, depending on model, engine, options, etc.

Have to say, Geoff from Joe Duffy motors (North Road, Dublin) is brilliant to deal with. Looking forward to collecting my Insignia SRi from him. :D

Please don't use boards as a method of flogging cars!
