    Staff receive redundancy with immediate effect
    It is believed that the Arbiter Group will close with immediate effect, following reports that staff have received letters notifying them that they have been made redundant.

    Some sources state that the company will be going into administration as of today (Friday January 30th) while other that MD Andrew Landesberg’s letter stated that the company would close.

    Rumours surrounding the company have been circulating since the NAMM show in California earlier in January and reports have been coming through constantly of Landesberg meeting with banks and administrators to find a way of keeping the company going, but now it appears that all other options have been exhausted.

    The news follows that of Sabian, yesterday (January 29th), handing exclusive UK distribution rights for its cymbal brand to Westside and also Remo announcing shared UK distribution with EMD.

    This leaves two catalogues of note, namely Vic Firth sticks and mallets and Native Instruments software products to find new distribution deals within the UK.

    Landesberg is reported to be ‘very disappointed with this outcome’ but it seems that there were no further options for the company to take.

    Further news will be updated as and when it is revealed.
