Hey Mike, I believe that car is up for sale on another site:

    Here's a picture:

The seller is looking for £4000 which is just crazy. As it looks like its been outside for a long time who knows what kind of condition the floor pan is in.

Even at €850 it would be hard to justify unless you were particular familiar with the mechanics of Fiats of this age.

Just a side note: I wouldn't be 'particular familiar' with the mechanics of Fiats of this age but my Dad would having been stuck in the morning with a Fiat that just won't start (although it did make him appreciate his next car a Mazda so much more :D ).

Haven't seen one for a while, but I agree that those 124s were a most unreliable yoke and it was a common sight to hear them turning over without starting.;) Hated them and wouldn't take a present of a fiat of that era.:D

It certainly is not worth £4000. Maybe if it was restored. The mechanics of any old Fiat/Lancia are fairly straight forward. The twin cam engines were unburstable (bar the head gaskets)

There's a white one on donedeal.ie for 5k euros I think, there just a picture of the engine but I think it says good condition.

Even if it is for sale, it could have been given a wash and polish rather than the ''abandoned'' state that it appears to be in.:o

Ronan, you should know that Fiats and water don't mix well, not even if it's holy water
    :D

I loved my Fiat Spider. :(

Smooth on the outside... crunchy on the inside!

It needed more work than I was willing to commit to, so I sold it on (no room for two old cars :(). Besides I really wanted something I could take on longer trips. Have taken loads of long trips in the SL since, including an amazing trip around the Ring of Kerry last year.

Another Spider will be first on my list when space/cash/time permits!

EDIT: That red coupe looked fantastic!
