I'd get on to your internet service provider, NTL if that's who you use. They'll be much more likely to give you a definitive answer than the majority of people here will be able to.

Go to upc.ie, and under Log In click Register Now and create an online account. Bit needless given that subscriber really should hav any account anyway, but thats UPC for you.

Are you connecting via a Netgear Wireless Router connected to an NTL/UPC Cable Modem? The Netgear device will be looking for your SSID (Nickname of your wireless device) and WEP password (the security password).

I had a problem in the past where the wireless router had a bit of a turn and I had to set it up again.

    Possible checks:
    1. Is the Cable Modem working? Take the network cable from the Wireless Router and plug this directly into your computer - does this connect you directly?

    2. If #1 works then it's a problem with the Wireless connection - you'll need to troubleshoot/reconfigure this. There are guides online about how to do this. See:
