Hi ive just been made redundant from my job as a plumber.
been in the same company for 14 years.

my question is what do i need to do about the dole allowences any other allowences i can claim for.

Dont own a house, no wife or kids.

    im 32

living with a mate now he owns his own house and a good friend so he doesnt want rent only bill money hes not registered as a landlord.

thinking of moving home mother out of work due to disability father deceased.

what is the best option for the option to recieve the maximum allowence.

how long does redundancy and social wefare take to recieve.

sorry for long post just havent got a clue what to do or how to go about it.

    cheers in advance

Well if you are available and looking for full time work, you should be eligible to apply for an unemployment payment.

Go down to your local social welfare office, with your P45, photographic ID, and proof of your address. It seems that you would qualify for Jobseeker's Benefit payment, which is based on your PRSI contributions. This works out at €204.30 per week. These claims are not means tested, and are much quicker to be processed.

Get down as soon as possible, as claims are not usually back dated.
