This is quite a popular topic in the poker forum at the moment.People discussing their longest losing run.

There was a time when I went 28 days without a winner. This was when I started playing poker full time about a year ago. I'd look at the form each evening and pick 1 horse and 1 only for the following day and over 28 days I had 10 seconds 8 thirds and 4 fallers:mad:. Also I backed all these to win as they were short/shortish prices.

So whats yer longest losing run?

23 races in the late 1990s. The run was broken at The Curragh when a John Oxx filly was withdrawn at the start and I got my money back. Three races later I had recovered my losses and was in profit. It was a tough time. You doubt yourself.

My best run off course was six wins in a row. On course it was wins in the first four races at The Curragh in the mid 1970s. I borrowed £10 to go racing and ran it up to about £80.
