    Hiya,

I recently just bought a new webcam *cue perv jokes* in Argos. It's a Mikomi DC 7130, if anyone cares.

I did what I was supposed to do, I installed the driver from the CD and let it do its thing. It also installed its other drivers, sound etc etc. On that day and the day after it was working perfectly. The following day I plug it in to a USB port, for some reason it started installing drivers again. Then my PC crashed. I put it down to a random crash, but no, it crashed again, and again. I took the cam out and it booted up fine.

I assumed my PC was in a mood and left it. So another day and I'm on MSN, of course I plug the webcam into its port, everything is cool until I went into webcam settings, and lord behold, we have another crash. I decided to test an old crappy logitech webcam, and that works fine. What is the problem? Could it be the drivers? Maybe if I try reinstalling them, but, I have no idea where they are on the PC. Help! I am on XP SP2 so you know.

think i have the same or similar camera and it works fine in vista and xp , BUT if you plug it out remember which port it was in !!!!! as it likes to reinstall itself if you use a different one.

try scrubbing the drivers and anything else it installed and reinstall it.
