Fair play lads for keeping the price to a minimum during these desperate times of recession (compared to the rip off for Garnier in Tripod:rolleyes:), will definitely try and make this, Kenny Larkin rocks.

Agreed, great line up there. Garnier is a disgrace - although in fairness its prob only that price cuz he demands so much.......

Good stuff - is Kenny Larkin playing or a DJ set?

Two killer rocking Electric Shocks at Twisted Pepper with devastating sets from Steve Rachmad, The Mole, Speedy J & Heartthrob have combined to make this marriage of club & venue one of the best around. The next generation of Electric Shock mutates onwards and our next event on February 21st is a heavy-heavy-hard-hitting line-up with Kenny Larkin & Greg Wilson working the controls upstairs while the awesome Cassy returns after her minimal nation of a set Electric City back in July.

Upstairs, we have long-time Dublin favourite, Manchester's Greg Wilson - a legend from the days of yesteryear and today and still rocking out his personal edits and unique style of disco, electro & house - always rocking the floor. Playing after him is Detroit legend, Kenny Larkin - whether it's early releases on Plus 8 through to his seminal mid-90s albums on Warp and R&S up to the recent return to form on Peacefrog, Rush Hour and the stunning Planet E long player 'Keys, Strings, Tambourines' Larkin has never been afraid to mix it up and take his sound in a new Detroit tangent. Part of the 'Second Wave' of Detroit producers alongside Stacey Pullen & Carl Craig, Larkin is still cutting tracks and DJing worldwide and we're delighted to have another one of our heroes come play at Electric Shock.

Downstairs, we welcome Cassy aka Catherine Britton to make her Irish return at Electric Shock. Cassy was born in England and raised in Austria by a Caribbean father and an Austrian mother. She spent her childhood in Vienna and Lower Austria where she started to sing and study music at an early age. She performed her first step into the professional world of electronic music as a vocalist for Elin's aka Autorepeat's "Music Takes Me Higher" on Sabotage Records. A series of releases on labels such as Mental Groove, Gigolo, Dessous, Ostgut, Perlon and her own eponymous label. She moved to Berlin in 2003 and after a while gained her reputation as a House and Minimal Dj. She has become a resident DJ at Panorama bar and has also mixed the very first Panorama bar compilation. She has collaborated with artists as Dj Elin aka Autorepeat, Dave the Hustler, Steve Bug, Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Mathew Jonson and recently Swayzak. Her appearance back in July of last year was one of the standout DJ sets of the year for us and we're sure in the dark basement of The Twisted Pepper, the sound will feel right at home. Representing Electric Shock downstairs is Dan McElligott, one of Dublin's finest deep techno DJs who has played for us more times than we have probably ourselves.

All doors open at 11. Entry is e15 in advance with tickets available from www.tickets.ie and e18 on the door which is five euro per international guest - not even Ben Dunne could fault us on this one.... Jackie Skelly's is brutal anyway...allegedly.

    Hi,

Electric Shock Competition time again. Three double passes for our knock-out line up at The Twisted Pepper on Saturday week.

One of our all time favourite Kenny Larkin tracks is his remix of Agraphobia by LA Synthesis on Plink Plonk from back in the Phuturegroove day. Tell us which Hollywood based actor used to run Plink Plonk?

    C] Mr.C
    E] Mr.E
    T] Mr.T

PM your answers by Friday February 20th please.

    Best of luck.

Keep those competition answers coming and don't worry we wouldn't dare name and shame all the Mr.T ones ["I ain't getting on no winning answers, fool!"]. Legendary Manc Jock and a first for us, Greg Wilson will be kicking things off on the stage until one bells. He will be followed by the first appearance in Baile Atha Cliath for over six years by the one and only Detroit DJ / producer / comedian / photographer / model, Kenny Larkin who will be jackin and joking his way back to Hollywood until Eddie Murphy retires or 3 AM Eternal, it's too close to call. Dan 'The Dan Mc' Elligott will be flying the Tricolour on his own for this one. He will be on in the basement until half twelve and before the Magda with soul, Cassy takes us to the [O'Connell] bridge.

Before the main event, Greg Wilson will be doing a talk on all things electro, disco and unch and you never know he might even tell us what it was like to be first DJ to be interviewed on British TV by Jools Holland, if not, try 'squeeze' it out of him [Kenny, remember when you are reading this, jealously will get you no where] Greg will start waffling at 6 and if you want an invite just drop us a mail as we will be only to happy to oblige. Rumour has it there will be free tea or iced tea vodka martinis, a tough decision, we know.

Good night and may your god go with you.
